Chena Hot Springs Resort
After wandering through the cool museum, don your bathing suit and enjoy the resort’s legendary namesake. The revitalizing mineral water soothes muscles with its warm temperatures of 106 degrees F (41 degrees C) year-round. You can also soak under the stars in an outdoor hot tub, or indoors in the heated pool. In between, slip away to the Aurora Café or the historic Resort Restaurant, where you can purchase meals, snacks, or beverages. When ready, join your expert guide for a small-group outing to view the Aurora Borealis. Your guide will lead you through one of the best places on earth to witness the green and purple illuminations loop across the night sky. Wait and witness the celestial wonder with hot beverages in the late evening, when viewing opportunities are the highest. The lights are also visible inside the cafe's Aurora Room, which serves as a comfortable and warm location for viewings. Note: We can never guarantee the Northern lights sighting.

Guide was pretty good, but needs to have a better script and better PA system. There's a lot of dead time on this tour. Even an experienced guide would have a challenge keeping it interesting. Chena resort is a shabby place. Ice museum was interesting; hot springs was pretty good. (Bring your own towel or $5) Afterwards we sat around for 1 1/2 hours waiting for dark. Restaurant was small and horribly disorganized. Wait time was about 2 hours, so not an option. "Cafe" was burger or breakfast sandwich heated in a microwave. Tour promised a hot drink which we never received. It was cloudy, so no northern lights.

Hello from North Pole, we are sorry that you did not have a good time on our tour. Sadly, the Chena Hot Springs Resort struggles like so many other companies throughout the country, with the lack of employees and therefore have been going through a rough patch. However, we are all trying to work together to get through those challenges and we can already see that the conditions have been improving. We always recommend to our customers to bring a towel with the swimsuits and other items, because they are pricey and on the smaller size but a good option for those who forgot to bring a towel. We are not even sure if you really went with our tour company, because we do not promise at any time that you will receive a hot drink and the restaurant visit happens before the hot springs pool to improve the waiting times, on top of making daily reservations. Also, the Northern Lights are clearly not guaranteed on our tours, due to the nonexistent possibility to control a natural phenomenon. That said, we are not sure with who you went, or which itinerary you have read, but we are very transparent about everything and will answer any questions our customers might have if the itinerary on the webpage is unclear. We still hope that you had a great overall-vacation. Your AWG team

We both had a great time at The Hot Springs resort. It was a lot of fun to go through the Ice house and taking a dip in the hot springs. John our guide did a super job trying to find the northern lights, but the weather wasn’t cooperating.

Nate was our Tour Guide , He was very friendly and made us feel part of a family within minutes. A safe driver, very polite, always checking on everyone on how they are enjoying, how the temp in the Van was, a very Super Nice Young Man. I had the pleasure of riding up front with Him and quickly felt safe, and a new friend. When I return to Fairbanks to do this again, I want Nate to be at the helm of the tour. You have a jewel of an employee that reps Your Company well.
