Chena Hot Springs Resort
After wandering through the cool museum, don your bathing suit and enjoy the resort’s legendary namesake. The revitalizing mineral water soothes muscles with its warm temperatures of 106 degrees F (41 degrees C) year-round. You can also soak under the stars in an outdoor hot tub, or indoors in the heated pool. In between, slip away to the Aurora Café or the historic Resort Restaurant, where you can purchase meals, snacks, or beverages. When ready, join your expert guide for a small-group outing to view the Aurora Borealis. Your guide will lead you through one of the best places on earth to witness the green and purple illuminations loop across the night sky. Wait and witness the celestial wonder with hot beverages in the late evening, when viewing opportunities are the highest. The lights are also visible inside the cafe's Aurora Room, which serves as a comfortable and warm location for viewings. Note: We can never guarantee the Northern lights sighting.

We had Jake as our tour guide and he was awesome! He made this tour so enjoyable and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time! He stopped for us to see moose (which we’ve been looking for since we got here) and went to different spots to see the lights. Just as we thought we weren’t going to be able to see them, we spotted them and he turned the van around and let us get out to take pictures. I recommend this tour to everyone and ask for Jake, he will be sure to keep you laughing and having a great time the entire tour!

This tour is very underwhelming and the Chen’s Hot Springs Resort resembles more of a Motel 6 then a actual resort. In short, the “Hot Springs” is nothing like what you’ll find in the Blue Lagoon in Iceland. Two totally opposite ends of the spectrum. The Hot Springs itself has stuff floating in it, looks very unattractive in all. The dressing rooms are extremely dirty to the point after observing everything we didn’t even swim. The staff are rude and not friendly. The wice museum is a total joke and a waste of time in our opinion. I wouldn’t pay for this experience again. The guide, while friendly was totally oblivious on anything to do with the Northern Lights. I’ve seen them three times and have a good bit of knowledge and spent time researching the Aurora. He obviously didn’t know anything about them, it was a shame because he’s a local tour guide. If you are in Fairbanks your money is well spent somewhere else. If you do decide to do a Chena Hot Springs tour you may have better luck with a different tour company and the guide they use if it includes anything to do with the Northern Lights.

We are sorry that you did not like your tour with us. Our guides are either from this area and live here their whole life or are very well educated, especially about the Aurora. We are only hiring the best of the best and unfortunately, the Chena Hot Springs resort is out of our control and a completely different company. It is always very helpful, if our customers would contact us directly about any concerns, which helps us to take care of it right away. We still hope that you had a great overall visit to Fairbanks, even if it clearly is not the Blue Lagoon.
