I guess any customer's experience is going to depend, in part, on weather conditions and pot luck; we were fortunate to get a bright (not sunny) day, pretty calm waters, and a good sprinkling of wildlife, much of which I think is as close to being guaranteed as any wildlife ever is (seal lions, harbour seals, sea otters, humpbacks, orcas, lots of birds including puffins), and some of which isn't (black bear, and distant specks that we were told were mountain goats). Plus those glaciers, of course. And these guys have the trips honed to as near perfection as possible -- I really can't think of any way in which they could be improved (other than longer at sea, but others might think that a downgrade!). Ample off-site parking with very regular shuttle buses. They keep you fed and watered (mostly inclusive; no nickel-and-diming with extra charges), good clean toilets, friendly informed crew, an interesting (if occasionally rather folksy) narration, plenty of time (but not too much time) for everyone to see anything of interest. I saved this for my last day in Alaska, and I certainly wasn't disappointed.

Great day trip out from Seward. Worth noting when you arrive, you can't park at the offices where you board the boat, You have to drive to a parking lot a few streets away and take their courtesy bus back so make sure you leave plenty of time for this. The trip itself is very good. They provide a pastry for breakfast and a light lunch. Very foggy when we set of for at least the first hour so didn't see any scenery at all. Gradually cleared through the day but there was still the wildfire smoke to contend with which sadly obscured the views. Still saw a reasonable amount of wildlife - seals, a couple of humpback whales, a small pod of orca, loads of birdlife. The glacier is beautiful and quite active - lots of cracking and crunching and a few small calvings while we were sat there for around 20 minutes. Remember to take warm clothes and a water/wind proof jacket. No matter how warm it is on shore (around 30C during our visit) it WILL be cold and windy out on the open water. Be prepared!

This was our only experience of seeing sea animals while in Alaska and it was wonderful! We took the 9 hour cruise and it was so worth the time! Saw an entire pod of killer whales, sea otters floating on mini icebergs, a glacier calfing, tons of waterfalls, eagles, sea lions, and gorgeous glaciers! Our captain was so skilled, he got close enough to a waterfall on a glacier that an employee was “initiated “ with water on his first cruise! Amazing day!
