Dionna was great and very knowledgable. The tour consisted of walking throughout the East and West Villages trying out yummy cupcakes and ice creams while exploring part of NYC. Pros: 1.) Good cupcakes 2.) Support mom and pop operations 3.) Good tour guides. Cons: 1.) Overpriced for what you get--two regular sized cupcakes, one milk shake, one scoop of ice cream and two min cupcakes (although they all tasted good and were unique). 2.) Wish we learned more about the cupcake baking and ice cream making process from the shop owners/guides 3.) Try different desserts--cupcakes, doughnuts, ice cream, muffins, pies and even bread pudding to mix it up.

Hi Anita! We were happy to host your group on a private cupcake tour and are sorry to hear that your experience wasn't a "five star" experience. We strive to provide high quality tastings with culinary and cultural history on the side, and will certainly take your feedback into consideration.
Something we do want to mention is that we include information about tasting portion sizes on our website. It is the first thing mentioned on our FAQ page (http://sugartoothtours.com/faqs/). Portion sizes are chosen so that most guests will feel full by the conclusion of the tour, but still able to enjoy the experience. We can imagine that eating 6 whole full-sized cupcakes would be difficult for most guests to finish.
Lastly, this was a private tour, and our cupcake crawl was what was requested, which is why there was less variety in the types of desserts featured. We currently offer 5 different dessert tours, most of which feature a wide variety of desserts. We'd love to host you on one of our other tours like our Find Heaven in Hell's Kitchen Dessert Tour, Bright Lights and Broadway Bites Dessert Tour, or our Sweeter Than Sugar Chelsea & West Village Dessert Tour, all of which feature 6 totally different types of tastings as well as culinary and cultural history.
We hope to host you again and turn your 3 star experience into a five star!
