Bus was useful to get orientation but the bus drivers were not really very helpful and one even drove off after I had gone to get on and asked him to wait literally 30 seconds for my husband ( leg brace on and limping) he told me to get off and closed the door , even the top view rep at the bus stop looked quite stunned at his behaviour šŸ˜” The boat trip was awful a real rust tub of a boat with a loud mouthed crew who screamed orders at everyone and a ā€˜captain ā€˜ who loved the sound of his own voice and felt obliged to give his opinions on everything that sprung to his little mind. The crew and captain actually had the audacity to waggle a tip box at the passengers after such a bad experience did not do half of what was promised (going to Brooklyn bridge vicinity cut it short ) So def donā€™t buy this boat trip there are many others that look far more seaworthy and have staff who are not so aggressive .

We availed of the 2 day bus tour with night drive and Statue of Liberty cruise. We've done lots of tours like that in many cities around the world. You could get tickets for the tour pretty easily, the commentary was interesting and informative, the guide on the night light tour was brilliant! Things we didn't like was, the buses were very aged, it was cold outside and buses were freezing. No blankets provided upstairs in the open roof either. We did similar tour in Vienna, Oslo, Reykjavik, London all in winter months with snow present and it was much more comfortable. I found the life map wasn't working and it was hard to workout what time the buses stopped at each locations. The Statue of Liberty cruise was bad. The map said that the boat should swim to the Brooklyn Bridge, but didnt do so, the commentary was non existent as speakers were broken and tour guide was indoors. There was no interaction with any staff, yet one guy was waiting at the end with a box collecting tips. I did found it odd, seing there was no service provided apart from swimming the boat. I'm the end, nobody seem to leave any tip behind which pussed the person off and he ended giving out to customers saying "what is wrong with you guys, f..king unbelievable )". Was the whole tour worth the money? I would not do it again.

How did we hate this tour, let me count the ways. First off they pick up right close to the hotel where we were staying at was only a few blocks to the pick up. The bus took about 20 minutes to get there, finally on it and on our way. We were starting at like 8th and 54th street (don't quote me on that) and the bus heads south which is what our goals was to get down to Battery Park. Then we get to 42nd street and it REVERES and heads back up-town! Unbelievable. It took nearly 2 hours to get from 54 to Wall Street area where we gave up. It doubled back twice and stops for way too long. I am a NYC veteran and only did this because my nephews were on their first NYC trip and my cousin thought that this would be fun. We walked from there on and took the subway back to our hotel. Never again.
