Our family and dear friends spent a beautiful Saturday afternoon walking and eating our way through the Lower East Side with Dante, the original “Mr. Nice Guy!” From our first taste of a traditional knish at the Yonah Schimmel Knish Bakery to our last bite at the Dulce de Leche donuts at the Donut Plant, we did nothing but laugh, munch—a lot—and learn a great deal about this incredible neighborhood. We have been on many food tours, both in and out of New York City, and we found Dante’s tour one of the best. There are so many wonderful things to see and do in the Big Apple, but make sure you make time to meet up with Dante and share a knish!

Was really looking forward to Lower East Side food tour after reading all the great reviews. Myself, husband and teenage daughter did the tour on a lovely sunny morning with a couple from Kentucky . It was great to meet, talk and do the tour with other people . The tour was amazing , Dante is incredibly knowledgeable about the area, the food and his love for NYC shines through. The tour was amazing got to try some great ( Katz deli Pastrami ) and not so great ( the yakky peanut butter fudge thing in the sweet shop , I believe it’s an acquired taste ) foods. My daughter is a vegetarian and Dante made sure alternatives were available for her. Had a great time tasting all the foods and putting the world to rights when we chatted at the various venues. This is a must do tour while your in NYC . Can’t wait to come back and do the Greenwich Village tour . Dante hats off to you my friend so much more than a nice guy .
