For something a little different I would certainly recommend this tour. Dante is both friendly and knowledgable. He tells you all about the area, the food stops and the food you are going to taste along the way. You may well even have your own when Harry met Sally moment when tasting the pastrami in Katz deli. All in all I could not rate the tour more highly, in fact you could say Danteā€™s Peak(ed) and is at the top of the food (tour) chain

I was gifted this food tour as a birthday present - and it was one of the highlights of my trip to New York! Coming from a family with a background in food tourism also, I had high expectations. This is a great introduction to the Lower East Side area (as we later realised how close we were to Katz's Deli we returned) and the duration of the tour is just right, with opportunities to make a little purchase at one of the stops, or sit, or go to the bathroom. It was also highly informative and Dante was keen and able to answer all of our questions (which were many). I think the only thing I would have liked a bit more of is history of the area. The size of the tour group was ideal, as we didn't feel crowded into small shops, and were able to have nice conversations with the other tour members. We started the tour on an empty stomach, having done the 2pm one, we omitted lunch. However, by the end of the tour we were positively full and also omitted dinner. We later returned to another location of Vanessa's dumplings and were brainstorming how we could bring some home to Germany with us.. Do not miss out on this tour!! If I come back to NY I will do the Greenwich one too.

Dante nailed this food tour! I've been to NYC several times and this was my first time to visit with my husband. Every international trip we take, we like to go on a food tour to better experience the local culture...I realized why not go on one within the US, especially NYC?! The food and quality of our experience was great! I love supporting small business owners, especially while also experiencing the Lower East Side through food & culture. Highly recommend checking it out!
