We wanted something different to do and my friend that a food tour would be fun. Most tours we looked up seemed to start at lunch time but we came across this tour that started at 2:30 which better suited our schedule so we booked the Lower East Side Tour. We had a great time. Dante was so friendly and personable. He would give the history of the establishments, many family owned and operated for decades. There were 10 people on the tour including us and that seemed just about right. Tour was advertised to go to 8 places but we ended up going to 9 and takes 3 hours, possibly a little more. His website lists all the stops. Food stops were all amazing and different and we would never have known to go to these places otherwise. This is a walking tour and a great way to experience a neighborhood. Each place, Dante has picked the best dish to try and everyone gets a generous sample. You eat a lot of food and even though these are very busy places, we skip the lines and Dante picks up the samples. The last few places we were so full with good food but we kept eating and being amazed. We enjoyed the tour so much that we wanted to do the Greenwich tour. He was off the next day but said to use the list and weā€™d have no problem doing it ourselves, which we did and had so much fun.

We did this tour last summer and seriously can not stop talking about it to everyone! One of our best excursions ever. Dante is simply beyond words- as is all the foods you sample. We tell everyone that this is a "MUST DO!" when visiting NYC. Warning- do no eat before hand. You will be stuffed. We plan to do this tour or the Greenwich village tour this coming summer.

Great tour. I was touring solo and Dante made me feel comfortable. He's really knowledgeable, fun and informative. The food we had was absolutely wonderful. I take tours wherever I go. I got my money's worth with this tour. I go to NYC each year and plan on taking Dante's Greenwich Village tour next year. Now I'm going to order some knishes and pastrami!!!
