The sticker price was a bit more than what I imagined (having ascended to the tops of other skyscrapers), but this was more than simply taking an elevator up 100 floors. The elevator ride up may be worth the price of admission alone. Be prepared for once the doors of the elevator close - turn around and pay attention to the high-def walls depicting the growth of NYC (and the construction and demolishment of the old World Trade Center Tower(s)). Views from the top are incredible. Once you arrive there is no rush for you to depart, so you can take your time.

Unfortunately, on the day we visited there was a major snafu earlier in the day which caused a multi hour wait to go through security. Once my party arrived to get scanned to go through security- our tickets were not able to be scanned for some reason- so we were sent to the customer service line.... waited again for some other person to translate our trip advisor purchased tickets to the kind that could be scanned by security..... Went through the security line to be funneled into an elevator with too many people. The elevator experience was the best part of the trip, but it went too fast and could not see due to too many people in elevator. Once we got off the elevator we were held in a holding room line, waiting to go into another room for a video presentation. This too had a snafu- technical difficulties. Due to this snafu- folks kept coming off the elevator, but we had no room to move out of the way because we were stuck in this room... no one thought to cease sending more people up- super claustrophobic and unpleasant. AFter they fixed the snafu- we had to watch another video of new york that was super not interesting before we could be released... It was great to finally get to the top after all that- the views were great. We sat at bar and had delicious cocktails and some peace and quiet. Overall- not worth it.
