Such as wasted opportunity! The views are fine, but you can see terrific views of Manhattan from many locations. Go to the Promenade in Brooklyn Heights, where many movies are shot to capture the skyline. The Empire State Building has a great observation deck, too.
Issues with this "attraction"
- Premium or extras are a waste of money. There weren't any lines, no one showed us a special elevator (not needed, anyway), etc.
- The 2-3 minute movie you're forced to watch before moving to the observation deck is useless drivel. It has zero purpose, and doesn't inform or entertain.
- There is an area set aside for looking down at the traffic in Manhattan. I'm not kidding. You stand on a large circle that has a video screen underneath, showing a loop or animation, it was hard to tell, of Manhattan traffic. Simply a bizarre waste of money.
- Nothing creative, clever, or interesting in the gift shop.
