It’s an excellent observatory. The initial elevator ride gives you an engaging start, the reveal at the top is very well done and illicited gasps from those who didn’t expect it, and the views are truly spectacular. The glass gives a real sense of space and freedom. It’s an extremely commercial enterprise as they charge a fortune, try to sell you digital guides and funnel you through a lacklustre and overpriced gift shop and it would have been nice if you’d been given some more information about the city as part of your ticket price rather than it being an added costs but it remains the most awe-inspiring of the NYC observatories.
