A definitely must see and do when in NYC! The elevator ride was too cool and the views are incredible with so many photo ops. It was surreal just knowing that this magnificent building stands in defiance of the diabolical terrorists who tried and failed to break the American spirit on 9/11! I recommend going to the top with the skip the line tickets - it's well worth it.

The observatory provides a good insight into NYC life post-9/11. It offers a very panoramic view of at least 3 of the 5 boroughs, including the New Jersey shoreline. I loved this adventure. The restaurant’s truffle fries were LIT❗️❗️😀 The only eerie part of this experience was actually looking down at Ground Zero from this height... #RIPs #InMemoriam

Go on this tour on a sunny clear day, but get ready to feel like part of the herd! This tour is not cheap ($40 + per person) and all along the tour, staff try to upsell you with all sorts of extras -- I-Pad tour, shop, photos, bar, cafe, etc-- so know what you want beforehand. The views are spectacular, and getting there, as you are whisked up many floors with a fabulous projection in the elevator of the changing skyline from Native American days to the present is worth the price of admission. But from then on, you'll be moved along briskly with no encouragement to linger. The baseboards have skyline cutouts so you can't rest a purse --or your behind--on them to get a picture, and benches for sitting and enjoying the view are few and far between --maybe two in the whole circle. My friend and I expected some information on Twin Towers and 9/11 with a corresponding level of respect, but not here. Exhibit on various telescopes was about it. For the money, it makes more sense to go to the top of the Marriott Marquis at Times Square and have a drink and a snack at The View and you'll be entertained and informed by the waiter, see all sides of the Manhattan skyline while comfortable seated, and pay less.
