Very pricey for what is essentially looking out at the views of New York but that said they are stunning. Thought has been put into making the most of everyone's visit with a presentation before reaching the observation deck.

Bought the combination ticket, initially for 1 pm but because of the high winds staff informed us the elevators weren’t going at that time. They told us tickets were refundable or valid all day. We decided to visit the 911 Memorial Museum first then and return after that (around 17:30 that was) Queues at that particular time were none and we got whizzed up in no time, even having an elevator to ourselves, in the company of tour ambassador Chris. The elevator experience itself is quite nice with fotographic images being projected on all elevator walls. As you step out, there is a brief film being projected and then the curtain slides up ... giving you a first glance at the city below. Our timing gave us the advantage of seeing NYC in daylight, dusk and dark. An absolute must-do for anyone !

I'm writing this review after traveling to Manhattan today with tickets for the Freedom Tower only to be turned away because the elevators were shut down due to high wind. The representative sharing this info with us and other disappointed and perplexed visitors said this was not uncommon. Lots here I don't understand like what about the employees working in the building? Do their elevators work? Was it just the express elevators to the top? No explanation was forthcoming. I haven't seen anyone else write about this so a word of caution if you are planning your visit on a day you know will be very windy, like today when the winds were very strong...one of those bomb cyclone events. Very disappointed after travelling from Philadelphia to visit the top of the tower. Refund was quick and easy but that didn't lessen the disappointment.
