NYC Revolutionary War-Era Walking Tour

Overview
Take a walk from the Stamp Act of 1765 through President Washington’s Inauguration in 1789. You’ll experience the spellbinding story of the unbelievable events leading up to the American Revolution. You’ll walk on the same colonial streets where it all happened.
* Listen to stories about real people like John Holt the “Liberty Printer” and Alexander McDougall, leader of the Sons of Liberty.
* Stand where George Washington had the Declaration of Independence read and where he escaped the British during the Battle of NY
* Take a walk through St. Paul’s Chapel, the town’s “Country Church” built in 1766 and still intact today. We’ll also visit some of the graves in the graveyard.

You'll see original documents and hear about events in the words of people who lived them.

Hosted by Karen Q, historian, author and regular on Travel Channel's Mysteries at the Museum

NOTE: Karen Q will appear in period costume on Saturdays through the end of September as her living history character "Mrs. Q'!

My husband, teenage son and myself went on the Revolutionary Tour with Karen and if you are interested in this subject I would thoroughly recommend it. Karen's passion for this period in history really comes through and we really enjoyed the experience - despite the cold! Friendly, informative and professional.

Wow! Karen knows her and loves history! In addition she loves telling people about it. Karen also knows how to educate you with wonderful entertaining stories. One of my husbands hobbies is learning and reading about the American Revolution so I was concerned that the tour would sacrifice entertainment for factual history - not the case! He loved it and was pleased to see so many sites. Great tour Karen! Thanks.

Fantastic! My family of 5 (including 3 teenage boys) unanimously agreed this was the most interesting part of our visit to NYC. Better than World Trade Center. Better than The Lion King. Better than The Rockettes. Karen really knows her stuff, and is clearly interested in the history of NYC (and other places, too) as evidenced by her passion in research she's done and the fascinating snippets of Revolutionary War history she shared with us.
