NYC Revolutionary War-Era Walking Tour

Overview
Take a walk from the Stamp Act of 1765 through President Washington’s Inauguration in 1789. You’ll experience the spellbinding story of the unbelievable events leading up to the American Revolution. You’ll walk on the same colonial streets where it all happened.
* Listen to stories about real people like John Holt the “Liberty Printer” and Alexander McDougall, leader of the Sons of Liberty.
* Stand where George Washington had the Declaration of Independence read and where he escaped the British during the Battle of NY
* Take a walk through St. Paul’s Chapel, the town’s “Country Church” built in 1766 and still intact today. We’ll also visit some of the graves in the graveyard.

You'll see original documents and hear about events in the words of people who lived them.

Hosted by Karen Q, historian, author and regular on Travel Channel's Mysteries at the Museum

NOTE: Karen Q will appear in period costume on Saturdays through the end of September as her living history character "Mrs. Q'!

I very much enjoyed my “NYC Revolutionary War-Era Walking Tour”! I was the only person that day and appreciated that the walk went ahead with just me. The guide tailored the walk to highlight my specific interests and we had a very interesting conversation. I’m familiar with NYC, but saw new places and learned more about the Revolutionary War battles in NYC as well as the people involved. I also got recommendations for books and TV shows as follow-up to the tour. I highly recommend this tour!

We had fun and learned so much. Communication was top notch and we had no trouble finding our start point. Mrs Q is obviously very knowledgeable and has a wealth of 8nformation to share. The tour was an easy, mostly flat walk through the finacial district. So much history. We would love to come back and take another tour with her. Highly reccomended.
