I was bombarded by the water tours reps as soon as I came out of the station at Bowling Green. They insisted the tour included headphones and docked on staton island and the statute of Liberty. We clarified this as we were meeting family there and they were adamant we could get off and get on another boat later as they ran every 30mins. They said there was free hot drinks and doughnuts. However all of this information was false. The coach dropped us in a very precarious area, there was no complimentary drinks or food and the tour did not stop anywhere just cruised up and down the river. The guide (Tony) was racist and sexist and made horrendous comments about all NY women being fat and ugly, white women being loose and suggested that NY men were sleazy and planning to rob you. The tour was appalling. We had to wait for 40mins for the coach to pick us up. The whole trip was a waste of time and money considering other tours offer a trip there for $18 and you get to look around the islands. I would never recommend this trip to anyone.

We got off the Big Bus downtown bus at stop 12, Battery Park, where we found the reps for the boat tour they were very polite and not pushy (didn’t matter that much as that’s what we were there for). The trip cost $35 each for adults and the bus was leaving in about 15 mins to the pier (just enough time to get up the road and back again for the photos with The Bull). It took about 5 mins to travel to the pier and a 20 min wait for the boat to arrive, embarkation was quick. The Tour guide Tony knew his stuff and pointed out a lot of things along the way. The iconic landmarks were fantastic and I have some great pics from the trip. Make sure you dress appropriately for the weather. This is a great trip to spend about an hour on the river and see New York from a different view. Also this trip does not land at the Statue of Liberty or Ellis Island.
