When we arrived at where the ship should have been, the gentlemen at slip #2 informed us that the boat was out for engine service and would not be available for the next 2 days. He said, ā€œdidnā€™t they let you know?ā€. They didnā€™t. Which is strange because they originally updated me to say that the trip would be moved up 15 minutes from the originally scheduled departure time. He offered me a pamphlet with a number to call the tour operator. When I called the tour operator she apologized and said that they had notified everyone of the cancellation (I guess they just missed me). Being from out of town (this was the entire reason my family and I went to NYC for the day), with all food and travel expenses, I estimate I spent about $300 to take a tour other than the one I had planned. I suggested that they refund my purchase and let me come back for the tour another time. She told me that the best she could do was to hold the tickets for up to 5 years and provide me with a free drink ticket when I re-scheduled. I declined and asked for a refund. She said that I could do that, but since I booked through Trip Advisor I would have to contact them. She was also unable to find my reservation, until I gave her a booking number. So, now I get to contact Trip Advisor. I guess it pays to make sure your tour is still ā€œas you booked itā€ before you head to NYC for the day!

We took this cruise yesterday and it was very nice. A great way to see the Statue of Liberty . The crew were very nice and we had a lovely time. Awesome to see them put the sails up and take them down.

What an amazing, unique way to see the Statue of Liberty! Very personal with about 30 people on board. The crew were professional and courteous. There seemed to be a treasure hunt for the kids on board which looked fun. A great trip.
