Oak Alley Plantation and Large Airboat Swamp Tour from New Orleans

Overview
The Oak Alley plantation tour is one of the most magnificent plantation tours near New Orleans because of the 28 evenly spaced, huge Oak Trees that go from the river road to the Plantation House. The Greek Revival home dates back to 1837. Located on the grounds is a restaurant, blacksmith shop, Souvenir Shop and antique farm equipment. Next up is an airboat tour - hold onto your hat! Our New Orleans Airboat Swamp Tour is a high speed adventure that is part tour and part ride. Along the way, you will get a personal tour by your local Captain. Our airboats have stadium seating, so that the person in front of you does not obstruct your view. So, every airboat seat is great for experiencing the tour and viewing the wildlife.

The remainder of your time will be spent with self-exploration of the grounds. If you use your time wisely, you can grab a sandwich at the gift shop for lunch and still have time to walk the grounds. You'll then be brought to the swamp tour dock for your next adventure.

Oak Alley was a beautiful plantation. Nice tour of the house, Wish there had been more information about slave life other than reading plaques. Highlight was the swamp tour. Our guide was Jason who was not only fun but very educated about conservation (he is on a board) and great explanations about the ecology of the area. He made it fun as well as very informative. Airboat is a uniques experience and plenty of alligators made their appearance. Highly recommend!

The swamp tour was fantastic but we had no time at the plantation to explore. We literally had time to get off the bus, use the facilities, take our scheduled tour and then run for the bus so they wouldnā€™t leave us behind. We couldnā€™t look at the grounds or outbuildings. Iā€™m very disappointed with the amount of money we paid, we did not get the full experience. Would not recommend, nor would I book this company again.

Thank you for the feedback. We do not have any ownership over Oak Alley, we only provide the transportation. However, we will relay the feedback to them. We are glad that you had a great time on the swamp tour.

Jason was an amazing guide during our swamp tour. We loved it! Everything went so smoothly from getting picked up and transported to the plantation then to the swamp tour. We did see a few gators too which was awesome. We learned a lot and really enjoyed the airboat! It definitely went faster than I thought, but it was nice on a hot day to catch a breeze. The oak alley plantation was also beautiful.
