Oak Alley Plantation and Large Airboat Swamp Tour from New Orleans

Overview
The Oak Alley plantation tour is one of the most magnificent plantation tours near New Orleans because of the 28 evenly spaced, huge Oak Trees that go from the river road to the Plantation House. The Greek Revival home dates back to 1837. Located on the grounds is a restaurant, blacksmith shop, Souvenir Shop and antique farm equipment. Next up is an airboat tour - hold onto your hat! Our New Orleans Airboat Swamp Tour is a high speed adventure that is part tour and part ride. Along the way, you will get a personal tour by your local Captain. Our airboats have stadium seating, so that the person in front of you does not obstruct your view. So, every airboat seat is great for experiencing the tour and viewing the wildlife.

Airboat portion was amazing. Ask for Capt. Jason he was a wealth of knowledge. Our bus driver was Pete... Lol I mean Kete. Best 2 people you could have as guides. If it was up to me.. I would forgo the Oak Alley Plantation part. But my wife enjoyed it. All in all another great day in New Orleans.

This was a last minute excursion while we were visit New Orleans for a friendā€™s wedding. I am so beyond happy we ended up doing it. To start, the shuttle picks you up from your hotel. Our driver Gary was AMAZING! Smooth driver, funny, personable, and very entertaining on the way to Oak Alley Plantation. The plantation was gorgeous, and the staff knowledgeable and friendly. They did an amazing job talking about the history, and not sugar coating the unfortunate realities of slavery. The gift shop had great snacks and drinks. We LOVED the blackberry mint julep frozen drink. We had purchased a special engraved glass on the grounds as well. We then proceeded to the shuttle, wherein we transferred to the swamp shuttle. In the scuttle, my boyfriend and I neglected to grab the bag with the special glass inside, and we were devastated. I emailed the operator to see if there was anything to be done and awaited what I thought was going to be a no. Upon arriving at the swamp tour, we were informed they had worked out a way to get the glass on the shuttle bringing us home. This was dealt with before the email had even been sent. The company is so on top of everything and willing to go above and beyond for their customers. Lastly, the swamp tour itself was everything I couldā€™ve imagined and more. Captain Jason was great to talk to and eager to educate us on the 5 different ecosystems he took us through. We saw several gators, lots of birds, and even got to hold a baby gator! I would rate this experience even high if I could. A huge thank you to all of those who work so hard to make this such an amazing experience. We will be telling everyone we know about how great of a time you gave us!

Great airboat ride. Our tour guide was awesome! The tour itself was a little unorganized. Not enough time at the plantation.
