One of my favorite things to do on Hilton Head Island is watch the dolphins. I am here a few times a year and the one activity I always love, is to go out on a dolphin cruise. My second favorite thing to do on HHI is to watch the sunset. This sunset dolphin cruise was the perfect combination of the two. Although the capacity of the tour is 49, we had only about 10, so captain Dan took us out on a boat that held 19 and it was the perfect size for the trip. We had room to move around a little, and the seats all along the edges of the boat were quite comfortable and sturdy feeling. The boat ride was fabulous and we did indeed see dolphins and the sunset. Sometimes these tours can feel very “scripted” or as if the captain is reciting a script. Captain Dan was super personable and really let the guests guide the tour. He spoke knowledgeably and answered our questions easily. He clearly loves his job and this amazing island. I would recommend this tour to anyone looking for a tour that is smaller than the big dolphin watch boat out of Harbourtown, but doesn’t want to spend the extra money that it would cost to take a private dolphin tour. It’s the perfect size at the perfect price. Take this tour! You’ll be very glad you that you did!
