Jason was the guide for the Old Port Culinary Walking Tour. There was an emphasis on seafood, which I just loved (since I love seafood). And Maine is one of the best places in the country to experience fresh seafood, as there is a real farm/sea to table movement in the state. Lobster rolls and seafood chowder are on the menu, as one may expect. The tour ended up being 4 hours long, which is pretty long for a food tour. Although it gave us time to digest and prepare for the next stop. I should mention, it was no solely seafood. He was trying out different breakfast items, beer was offered at 2 stops and we each got to choose our own chocolate truffle for dessert. Tons of Maine factoids were given, which is cool since most of us donā€™t know much about this underrated state. And Jason had lots of stories from his Maine childhood to share. We even saw a piece of the Berlin Wall, which sits by the port. Portland is a real happening type place, and this tour is one way to tap into it and get a sense for the awesome foodie scene.

Great time learning about the history of Portland and tasting classics, like chowder and lobster rolls at fabulous places! Loved the tips from Timothy, our tour guide, to check out other parts of Portland!

Had a great time walking the city and learning history as well as places to go etc. Timothy, our colorful tour guide, was filled with local knowledge as well as some artistic flare (not to mention he is just a genuine, humble guy). The food was delicious but the education was invaluable. Excited to come back to Portland with a better idea of where to go and what to do on our next visit!
