We had Chuck for our guide. We were thirteen in our group, because I was by myself, so six couples and me. On a Sunday morning, Chuck made sure to have ordered Holy Donuts ahead of time for us, which we got to sample at our first stop with coffee or tea from the Maine Pantry. All of us got a chuckle out of seeing the line waiting to get into Holy Donuts later on in the morning. Chuck exhibited a genuine affection for his adopted city of Portland and enjoyed sharing historical and architectural facts with us. If there was any way to do a little more walking around the city between food stops and samples, that would be good from my perspective. The places we stopped in and the food and drink we got to sample were all enjoyable, but sometimes it seemed we were going from one place directly into another without a breather. All in all, a very fun way to spend 3 hrs exploring the heart of Portland.

The line at HD can get cRaZy, for sure, and it's always a gas for guests to see how easily they claimed their potato donuts when we walk by. There's a funny thing about our locals and folks from away. So many locals will say to themselves, "I'll try that tomorrow, I'll do it soon, it's not going anywhere" while our new locals "from away" dive right in and do all the things, so grow their knowledge exponentially and Chuck is definitely one of those. Regarding distance we try to keep it to the 1 - 1.5 miles over the course of the three hours for the Old Port Culinary Walking Tour as not everyone has the same fitness level and we often have kiddos as well. Love that you're keen for more sites though! Happy to hear you enjoyed your tour with Chuck and we appreciate you making a Maine Foodie Tour part of your visit.
