We were going to pass on the food trip because, although we take one every time we travel to get the lay of the land and the good eats, this was a two-day trip. But we decided to go ahead and Iām sooo glad we did! We met some of the coolest local pub and restaurant owners, are some of the best food we had the whole trip, and learned so much weād never heard about Portland. Two of the stops on the tours were so good that we went back! Timothy, our guide, is a native Mainer and he impressed us with he local knowledge. It was a lot of fun.
Only tip we could think of was that he pointed out Markās hot dog stand, a staple in Portland, and in the time we were there, we saw people stop by and catch up with Mark, locals honking from the road and waving to him as they went by, his usual customers stop and hang out on the benches with him... he clearly is as integral to Portland as the lobster. But while the tour points him out, it was not a stop and we didnāt get to try his hot dogs. BUT heās right in the middle of town, so thereās plenty of time to swing by later!

Mark's is an institution, for sure, and featuring the diversity of our culinary scene could certainly include an iconic spot like this one =) We're always open to considering new (or old?) locales or at the very least pointing them out for our guests to enjoy post tour.
Two days is just not enough time to visit Portland, but we're happy to hear you included us in your visit, and we'd love to hear which ones you went back to. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate your review!
