We were going to pass on the food trip because, although we take one every time we travel to get the lay of the land and the good eats, this was a two-day trip. But we decided to go ahead and Iā€™m sooo glad we did! We met some of the coolest local pub and restaurant owners, are some of the best food we had the whole trip, and learned so much weā€™d never heard about Portland. Two of the stops on the tours were so good that we went back! Timothy, our guide, is a native Mainer and he impressed us with he local knowledge. It was a lot of fun. Only tip we could think of was that he pointed out Markā€™s hot dog stand, a staple in Portland, and in the time we were there, we saw people stop by and catch up with Mark, locals honking from the road and waving to him as they went by, his usual customers stop and hang out on the benches with him... he clearly is as integral to Portland as the lobster. But while the tour points him out, it was not a stop and we didnā€™t get to try his hot dogs. BUT heā€™s right in the middle of town, so thereā€™s plenty of time to swing by later!

Mark's is an institution, for sure, and featuring the diversity of our culinary scene could certainly include an iconic spot like this one =) We're always open to considering new (or old?) locales or at the very least pointing them out for our guests to enjoy post tour. Two days is just not enough time to visit Portland, but we're happy to hear you included us in your visit, and we'd love to hear which ones you went back to. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate your review!

This is my 5th food tour and possibly my favorite. The people in Portland are friendly and that brought a relaxed atmosphere for the tour. Timothy started this tour off right by showing up with Holy Donuts, a local favorite. There was the perfect mix of fine dining tastes to local, casual favorites. We were had the best classic lobster roll paired with local craft beer. This tour offered the perfect amount of food and enough walking but not too much. Be prepared to walk up hill a little on the trip but that's before you start eating so it's not too difficult. The itinerary was perfect. An ideal mix of history, food, and walking around the Portland streets. Timothy, our guide, was a local who shared his loves of the city and you could really tell how much he loves Maine. Thank you guys for a great afternoon!

Thank YOU for joining us! The Old Port Culinary Walking Tour is our flagship experience and the most changeable as there's so many great flavors to feature - variety is the spice of life! Very happy to hear you enjoyed not only the itinerary, but the expertise of your guide. We have an amazing team who are so passionate about the local history and culinary scene and equally amazing partners who you can tell, love what they do. We hope you savor(ed) the rest of your time in Portland and enjoy many more food tours in the future - they're our favorite way to see a city when we travel too!

I love doing food tours and this one was fantastic! Our guide Chuck moved at a great pace and we got very large samples at each of the 6 stops. Definitely will be doing this next time I'm in Portland, Maine.
