Join us every weekend for the Old Town Literary Walking Tour, a stroll through downtown Key West, illuminating stories of writers that have called our island home. Inspired by David A. Kaufelt’s original literary walking tour, our new tour features the former homes and favorite haunts of writers, including Tennessee Williams, Shel Silverstein, Elizabeth Bishop, and Robert Frost, and highlights tales of our lesser-known local talent.

Through the Key West Literary Seminar, Sarah Thomas has created a 90 minute tour of old town Key West that celebrates and discusses authors of Key West, ranging from Hemingway, Wallace Stevens & Elizabeth to Judy Blume and Thomas McGuane. We walked where they lived and wrote. Sarah provided biographical information, interesting and often humorous anecdotes and occasional excerpts of their works. It was an easy walk, a fun & informative tour, and a pleasant early evening activity. This tour won't hold the interest of young children, and did require about a mile of walking (or riding along on one's 3-wheeler).
