Old Town Key West Literary Walking Tour

Overview
Join us every weekend for the Old Town Literary Walking Tour, a stroll through downtown Key West, illuminating stories of writers that have called our island home. Inspired by David A. Kaufelt’s original literary walking tour, our new tour features the former homes and favorite haunts of writers, including Tennessee Williams, Shel Silverstein, Elizabeth Bishop, and Robert Frost, and highlights tales of our lesser-known local talent.

Excellent tour - We loved it! The guide was terrific - very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. He was fun and full of info about the vibrant literary history of Key West - far beyond Hemingway. We also learned about the many writers who still live there today - including Judy Bloom. Even our 15 year old son, who true to his age acted disinterested through the whole tour, talked our ears off about what he learned all night. Highly recommend!

Interesting, informative and fun—Scott did an outstanding job. We try to take walking tours whenever we travel; we have done dozens and this was one of the best. A nice blend of literature, local culture and history with plenty of opportunities for questions and discussion. Recommend without hesitation.

THE HIGHLIGHT OF OUR TRIP! Scott gave us the most amazing tour of “real” Key West - in depth knowledge of literary Key West - what writers are/were here, where they wrote works, relationships amongst the small but brilliant community but best of all Scott had a local’s insight. A beautiful city and really a treat to see parts that most tourists just pass by. We’re hoping now to come back to try the Literary Festival in January. Thanks Scott❣️
