Overview

On our one-and-a-half-hour dolphin cruise, you’ll get an up-close view of our resident dolphin pod. Between 50 and 70 dolphins reside together in our bay, and by paying close attention to them over the years, we have named many of them. We know them by their unique dorsal fins and will introduce you to our water-loving friends when you cruise with us aboard the Explorer.

The Explorer allows us to get as close as safely possible to the banks and the local marine and wildlife. Because the boat only needs 16 to 18 inches of water underneath, we can sneak into creeks and swamps where few other boats can go, providing you with a truly unique and memorable experience.

Perfect for families or those just wanting a Dolphin-specific cruise in Orange Beach. Our expert guides can identify many of the resident dolphins and share fun facts about their behaviors, their habitat, and their relationships within the pod.

What To Expect

Orange Beach

Our knowledgeable tour guide and captain point out the local flora and fauna. You may see osprey and their nests, herons, bald eagles, red-tailed hawks, and maybe even an alligator or two. The Explorer allows us to get as close as safely possible to the banks and the local marine and wildlife.

This was our first trip to the Gulf Shores area and we were eager to get out on the water. Cetacean Cruises was just the ticket. The staff was very professional. The drinks were really good. We were lucky and got to see some dolphins up close. We had a rainbow and beautiful sunset. My kids 15-21 all had a good time. See pictures. We would do it again.

We had a wonderful time. Saw dolphins, captain and waitress were friendly. Great time! Adults and teenagers enjoyed the evening. Would do this again.

We took the dolphin and nature cruise at 10 am. It was really hot and two hours is a long time to be on the water. Regardless, we enjoyed it. Our captain was really good as was his helper. They were very nice. The first hour we only saw two dolphins but we saw around 7 the second hour. They came up close to the boat. There are snacks and drinks you can purchase on the boat for only a dollar each. I reserved the trip online, which was super easy. Afterwards you can shop at the Wharf with your tickets and you get 10 percent off. Overall it was a good experience, just really long on a hot day.
