Overview

The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.

This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales!

Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla's Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove.
Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour.

Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.

My husband and our 2 children (13 & 14) did the Sea Cave Kayak Tour and had a great time. Our guide knew a lot about the area and the science behind it. We were not able to pass thru the cave since the tide was low but we saw lots of seals. Highly recommended!

I tried the Sea Cave Kayak tour after seeing a deal on Living Social. The company rents lockers and wetsuits, which my friend and I used because it was overcast and we're wimps. It was exhilarating to go over the waves and get in the kayak. Marcus and Kevin were great guides - they kept an eye on all 19 people in the groups, making sure we got to where we needed to be. They also gave a great history of La Jolla. We saw a lot of sea lions basking in the rocks near the cave. The "cave" was a little disappointing- in and out pretty quickly. They also offer discounts for past participants if you want to rent a kayak on your own afterwards.

A huge thank you to everyone at Everyday California for an awesome experience! Our group did the Sea Cave Kayak Tour at 10am and the water was perfect for the caves. We were glad that we rented wet suits otherwise it would have been very chilly. Our guides were Adam and Peter aka Thor and they were very knowledgeable about La Jolla, the marine life, castle house, caves and made sure we had a great time. Peter kept us entertained with his bad jokes and Adam made sure we got in and out of the caves without any problems. Thank you to Harry for explaining options for a large group (10) and helping us book our tour. A special shout out to Brittany for recommending we grab lunch at the Cheese Shop down the street where we had some serious noms before continuing on our day. And last but not least, thank you to Brian for being really, really good looking and Lambeau and Indy for welcoming us to the shop. Overall we had a great experience and we'd definitely go back!
