Overview
The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.

We did a 90min kayak tour of La Jolla Cove, and we were also able to enter one of the Sea Caves. The guides Sam and Dan were great, it was a beautiful day out and the water was 71 degrees, which made the tour even more enjoyable, We were in a two person kayak, and it was a very leisurely kayak out to the caves. Beginner kayakers would have not problem. You did get almost completely wet just getting past the waves, so we wore swimsuits. The whole tour took about 2 hours by the time we were completely done. It was great, I would highly recommend it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that our tour was canceled 3 times and then rescheduled once. The canceling was for unsafe conditions, so we understood, but the first time they canceled we drove there and parked, and then at the place they said they forgot to call us and say it was canceled. If you buy a travelzoo or groupon to use on a certain day, be prepared that you may not be able to use it that day. Overall very satisfied with the tour.

I bought a groupon to Kayak and see the Sea Caves and when I called the company not only was the person on the phone rude but also they informed me that they would not accept the groupon. They said they were full and that the only way I could go was if I paid $40. I was extremely disappointed. But it worked out better for us because we were able to just visit the beach down the street and it was cheaper than if we had done the tour.

I bought 4 Groupons for the Original Sea Cave Kayak tour and went with my husband and parents. Ben and Blaine were our tour guides and they were fantastic. They shared with us environmental facts, info about the houses we could see and history of the area along with some corny jokes that I loved. Above all, they were completely committed to our safety. When visiting the Clam's Cave, another tour company leader didn't judge the wave set correctly and their customers fliped the kayak. It could have been way worse if one of our guides didn't help them out. Ben and Blaine made our safety a priority. We did have a bit of an issue with a confirmation email from EDCA. I did not receive a confirmation email about the tour I booked so I called back a week later to have them send another one. Yet again, I did not receive it. When we went to the tour, we only brought enough money to cover the wetsuit rentals but we had to pay the state sales tax. No one brought that up to me the two times I called. Apparently it was noted on the email they sent. They confirmed the email address they had on file, which was correct, and then told me it probably went to my spam folder. After a quick run to the car we had enough cash on hand but it would have been nicer if someone had just told me over the phone. Again, great tour and we would do it again.
