Original La Jolla Sea Cave Kayak Tour for Two

Overview
The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.

This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales!

Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla's Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove.
Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour.

Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.

Phillip M was a great tour guide! We saw the four microhabitats. Two sea lions came up close to us, and we went inside Emerald Cave and saw three more sea lion pups. The waves were a little rough that day (Aug 21st 2022), but their team held onto the stern to keep us from tipping. You should know that the guides can't paddle for you; it's up to you to keep up with the group and move forward through the waves. But I felt very safe overall, and didn't have any trouble keeping up, even though my arms aren't that strong. If you don't want to surf your kayak in to the beach at the end, the team will grab the bow and keep you from tipping. Phillip knew a lot of stuff about SD that I had never heard, even after living here 16 months. Overall, loved it, learned so many facts about La Jolla and San Diego, and got to see the caves in a totally different way.

We arrived early due to challenging parking availability but it was worth getting there early. Phil M. was our guide and we highly recommend him. He made the experience awesome with his rich history and knowledge of the La Jolla Caves, the cliffs, the Bay, and ecosystem! If it wasnā€™t for Phil M. , we would only gave it a three star because the previous guide was late and we had to wait around 30 minutes , but Phil M saved the time problem with his awesome energy and experience and our group was super cool!

Fantastic time with California Everyday and their sea cave kayak tour. The guides were fantastic - friendly and informative. They made it a real pleasure.
