The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.

This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales!

Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla's Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove.
Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour.

Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.

We had a great time! It was so fun to be out on the water. We weren’t able to get into the cage due to high waves/conditions but the views and lessons were incredible. Luke and McKenna were out guides. I live in the area and will absolutely be bringing more of my friends/family visiting town on this!

Hudson, our instructor was very helpful, friendly, and informative in letting us know about all the surrounding area and sea life. I was nervous when I arrived as I did not know what to expect being my first time kayaking, but all the staff from start to finish made the experience very easy and enjoyable. I can't thank them enough for accommodating because we were cutting it close on time due to the drive from LA. They squeezed us in and we left with memorable moments thanks to everyone working. You can't go wrong, only more memories to create with what you will experience out there. Thank you!! Tips: *Bring a waterproof cover for your phone, but incase you forget they provide some in the shop * Follow the lead of your partner if you are in the back, this is a great team-building exercise *Have fun, there is so much to take in

Buyer be warned - there is an inflexible no refund policy at any point within 48 hours. My husband and I were excited to participate in our kayak tour experience. We have both kayaked before and I had even participated in this exact tour years ago. For some reason on the day of our tour, we were unable to navigate the surf in the tandem kayak and kept flipping as we tried to leave the beach. We tried to get out a few times but ultimately were unable to participate in the tour. The guides on the beach said that this was a common occurrence. We submitted a request for a partial refund as we understand we took a spot from another potential participant but as we couldn't participate, we thought that reasonable. It eventually became clear (I'll spare you the gory details of the bumbling customer service) that their hard policy is no refund unless you touch sand. TLDR: Over 3 phone calls they 1) they directed me to submit a claim to viator, only to reject it 2) directed me to send an email, to ignore it for 2 weeks (even with reminders). They will provide a voucher for 1 year but if you are out of state, as we were, that is not helpful. Advice to the owner: 1) advise your customer service to be straightforward with your no return policy - feet touch sand, no returns. Don't waste peoples time 2) Remove your "I can't refund you since your funds are with Viator" from your script - you are going to reject the Viator claim anyway so why waste peoples time 3) revisit your refund exception policy for out of state participants. You can give guests in a similar situation the option of a partial refund or full voucher
