Original La Jolla Sea Cave Kayak Tour for Two

Overview
The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.

This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales!

Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla's Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove.
Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour.

Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.

We will never book an experience with Viator Again. Here's why: 1. They did not give us the address for the tour, which wasted precious minutes before we finally made it to the ocean. This meant we had to go door to door among tour locations in town to find out where we were booked. By the time we arrived, the tour was already underway at the beach, which was a 10 minute walk from the Everyday California store. 2. Poor communication: we weren't told how early to arrive, what to wear, what supplies we could (or shouldn't!) bring, how to protect our glasses and phones from the waves. 3. Booking directly with the tour operator might have given us better directions and advice. Viator as a middle man made this an unnecessarily disappointing experience. 4. This is not about the tour provider. Their staff made their best effort to make it enjoyable and next time I'd go directly with the tour company, which was called Everyday California.

We did Everyday California Sea Cave tour. We started in kayaks and paddled into ocean toward caves. We saw a whale in the distance (prob 300-400yds away, maybe more) which was neat, but never got close to the caves to look around. The weather and waves were windy and choppy so kayaking was difficult. We were probably 150-200 yds from the caves. Other groups we saw were closer to the caves, but didnā€™t go in. Very unorganized, didnā€™t know where we were going. Basically paddled to middle of ocean, once we saw a whale way far away, tried to paddle closer, and then, turned around to come back. I felt it was overpriced, especially for not even seeing caves.

Hey Tennisgirl, First of all, thank you for coming out on a tour with us, we appreciate your business and for taking the time to leave us a review. We always strive to give 5 start experiences, so we appreciate the feedback. We have you and your family's safety in mind at all times, and that is how we determine how close we can take you to the caves. While someone else might push the limit and risk the health and safety of their guests, we like to error on the side of caution. I'd like to get you back out on the water so you can hopefully see more of the beauty that La Jolla has to offer, and possibly have a much better experience with us. Please feel free to email me at [email protected], and I'll do my best to take care of you. That's awesome you saw a whale out there while kayaking! That's not something too many people can say.
