Overview

The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.

This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales!

Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla's Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove.
Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour.

Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.

I've taken this tour, the Kayak & Snorkel tour, and the Whale Watching kayak tour. I've never had anything less than an outstanding experience coming here. The tour guides make the experience really easy for beginners (they'll even push the kayaks past the waves so that you don't risk flipping over). They also pay extra attention to kids to make sure they're safe and having a great time. I've lived in San Diego almost my whole life, and I learned a ton of new things about the area.

What a great experience! Everything California provided a fun, safe, and amazing experience. Our guides Trent and Abby were the best. Very knowledgeable and going into the caves with Trent was the best!!! Our whole family loved this. Ages range 10-51.

Joe and Caleb were awesome, funny, and friendly. They provided a lot of good information about the ecology of the area - I wasn’t expecting that and it interesting stuff. It made us want to go snorkeling the next time. Had a great time! Highly recommended!
