The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.

This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales!

Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla's Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove.
Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour.

Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.

What a fun fun day! We were super surprised our kayak tour was so excellent since it was a Groupon purchase. Sometimes those are very hit and miss but we took the chance and do not regret it. Our kayak guide was Jake and he was so good at his job and we could tell he really enjoyed what he was doing. He shared that he is in school for real estate and we have full confidence that he will do awesome! We will be back!

I did this as a single not "for two". The tour was fun and Trent was attentive and informative. What was nice was that they took us out in small groups - only 5 kayaks per guide so when you fell behind, it was easy for them to wait and keep track. I would've liked to see more sea life but going through the cave was cool and it was a nice trip. If you can figure out how to keep your car keys with you (I had a little box clipped to my vest), then you can save yourself the locker fee and keep everything in your vehicle. And note that you have to walk through the street to get from either the office or your vehicle dressed in your swimsuit.

This is great experience for couple like us! I was worried to paddle for 90 minutes, but we took a break in between a lot, so it's doable. Our guide Catherine is knowledgeable, kind and helpful. Going in and out of the cave was awesome! You will get completely wet, so don't bring anything with you during kayaking, and I recommend to buy water protective case for your cell phone which sells in the store.
