We had a great morning kayaking with our guide Gina! She pointed out a lot of wildlife and told us interesting things about them. From talking with us, she learned what things we liked and customized our tour. We took a very short walk at the state park to see the manatee refuge area. Water access is protected during the winter months. There is a nice viewing deck.Today there were only 3 manatees that were counted, probably because the weather had been warm. We did not see any, but Gina pointed out a marker that had been placed on one of the manatees. Some days there are more than 600! There was a manatee research team and videographers working there.

Great tour! We had the best tour from Guy... really nice, incredibly knowledgeable about wildlife, especially the manatees, experienced kayaker, and just generally a good group leader. We saw all sorts of birds and gators besides manatees. We were late because of the brutal Florida traffic south of Orlando, and they patiently kept the group waiting until our arrival. I wouldn't recommend being that late because of the inconvenience it causes others, so when planning your trip there, prepare for the worst traffic! Tip well, because of the great guiding, and especially if you are late!

Abundance of wildlife. As well as the manatees we saw numerous alligators, turtles, snakes and birds.
