We were a difficult, large family group, with a wide range of experience. Our guide was very flexible and accommodated us. We saw lots of wildlife, including a manatee (even though off season) as well as alligators, turtles, herons, and a variety if other birds and plantlife.

We really enjoyed our paddle with our guide, Bill. The scenery was beautiful and we saw some interesting wild life including alligators, a bald eagle, Great Blue Heron, a water snake, turtles and several other water birds. Unfortunately, we did not see any manatees as the water was too warm. I was aware this is hit or miss in mid-March. Bill gave a lot of great information about the area and the animals. I felt it was worthwhile to have the perspective of a guide rather than just renting kayaks on our own. After the tour we drove into Blue Springs State Park and took a walk along the boardwalk where we were able to see a couple of Manatees deep in the Springs. From a COVID perspective our guide wore a mask when loading us in and out of the kayaks. The other family on our tour did not wear masks. It was easy to stay greater than 6ft away from everyone.

Bill was our guide and we had a great three hours on the river. Our main goal was to see the manatees and we sure did. This can be hit or miss in April but there were several in the springs and even some in the main river. We even saw bald eagles, alligators and several other birds. Great option to get out of over done Disney.
