My 12 yr old grandson & I had a wonderful 3 hour kayak tour of Blue Cove Springs with our guide, Bill. Bill is well versed in the ecology of not only Blue Cove Springs, but of much of Florida. While it is not Manatee season, we did get to see Buckeye, the resident Manatee as well as lots of gators, fish, turtles and birds. This was a nice, easy kayak trip for the two of us without lots of strenuous exercise and we are not seasoned kayakers. We will be going back later in the summer for the bioluminescent experience.

We had a wonderful morning Kayaking with our guide Jeff on the St. John’s River. What a great way to get away from the fast days of Disney World. Our family each had our own kayak and were able to see manatee, alligators, several types of birds and amazing fish. The water in the spring is so clear you can see to the bottom. We lucked out and saw 3 manatee up close! Jeff (our guide)was awesome and super fun to be with! We loved every minute of it! I would highly recommend this encounter!

Our kayaking tour was definitely the highlight of our mother daughter Florida trip! Bill was an excellent guide - he was informative about the area and wildlife. Some of our group had experience kayaking and some did not- Bill was a great trainer and helped us feel confident trying something new! This experience definitely trumped anything else we did/ including amusement parks! We saw manatees, eagles, many birds, turtles and even a few alligators! Bill helped us feel comfortable and to learn about these animals in their natural environment. This was a winner!
