A great experience! I always wanted to try paddleboard yoga, so vacationing in Honolulu was a great chance to try it out. I did some research on the net, and there weren’t many options. It was either Yoga Floats or another company. After checking out the time and the classes, I decided to go with Yoga Floats.
I emailed Kelsey regarding the family yoga because it was the only time I was able to do it. I was a bit worried it was going to be all family members and being a single female; I wanted to ask some questions. She wrote back to me right away and was very efficient and friendly in the email and addressed all my concerns. I was very happy with our communication that I decided to book the class. I arrived at the meetup point specified on the website, which was on point. Kelsey was super friendly, as well as the other classmates.
We took our paddleboard and weight into the water. She gave us directions how to carry our paddleboard and weight. The paddleboards weren’t too heavy and were a good size! If you ever been paddle boarding the bigger, the better! She was very helpful and informative with setting ourselves up.
At first, I was a bit scared to balance myself on the board, but it got easy. Also, letting go of the fear of falling into the water eased my tension. The water is about thigh high, so falling in was refreshing.
There were a lot of kids swimming near by, so I would highly recommend taking the class earlier in the day (morning). After we had finished, I saw another yoga class going on, so I guess that area is the place to do paddle board yoga.
Overall, the class was great! Kelsey is experienced and was able to help with the poses as we were going through the flows. I would highly recommend trying it out!
