Pearl Harbor: USS Arizona Memorial & USS Missouri Battleship Tour from Waikiki

Overview
Prepare to be moved on this somber but inspiring tour of historic Pearl Harbor. With visits to both the USS Arizona Memorial and the Battleship Missouri, two of the most popular tours on Oahu, this tour is powerful.

As a guest on this small-group tour, you’ll receive transportation from the hotel, admission to the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, and a complimentary viewing of the stirring Pearl Harbor documentary. You’ll also be escorted by boat to the USS Arizona Memorial before a tour of the USS Missouri’s ship decks and interiors. Both of these majestic and historic ships serve as important reminders of one of the country’s darkest days.

On the return trip to Waikiki, we’ll drive by other historic Honolulu sites like Punchbowl Cemetery, the "Arlington of the Pacific," and the King Kamehameha Statue. Our knowledgeable guides ensure you’ll have plenty of time to ask questions and take pictures.

Cousin Sam was a great tour guide. Very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. He provided insightful information on the Pearl Harbour monument and history. I enjoyed this tour very much.

After making our reservation, we received very good communication preparing us for the tour. This included info about the time we would be picked up from our hotel for the tour (6:30 a.m.). That morning, we got up extra early to make sure we were ready on time. When the bus didn't arrive by 6:45 a.m., I contacted the company. They told me the tour was delayed due to weather conditions on the other side of the island (???). They then provided some text updates on the expected arrival time. These estimates also turned out to be very inaccurate. Ultimately, the bus arrived to pick us up at approximately 9:00 a.m. (2.5 hours late). The driver was extremely friendly and very apologetic for the delay. He was very engaging with the tour participants and provided a lot of interesting and helpful info throughout the tour. The tour experiences were as advertised. However, we couldn’t help but feel that, at every point on the tour, the schedule had been “trimmed down” (due to the aforementioned delay), allowing us less time than expected to take in each of the tour stops. At the museums, for instance, there was simply no time to do anything but walk by the displays quickly and not really learn any details. Consequently, we missed out on much of what there was to learn at the museums, and I don’t feel we received the full, promised value of the tour. Unfortunately, I would recommend using a different tour company when booking your Pearl Harbor Tour.

Communication was terrible. Embarkation location had changed but I was not notified until after I called Viator to ask where van was at (the vendor did not respond to text). Then...strangely I was bombarded by texts and emails after the call but both emails and texts were dated as having been sent the previous evening. Not so. I have a Samsung Galaxy S20 5UW running on Verizon network. When I arrived at pick-up site, the van operator was not apologetic. Later, at venue, he was close to worthless in terms of communicating our venue clearly, being of assistance in accessing the venue, or acting like he was anything more than my Uber driver. Lastly, the vehicle was NOT handicap accessible and I had a bum knee which made things challenging. So nuts to this activity through Viator.
