Punchbowl Crater is an extinct volcanic tuff cone located in Honolulu, It serves as a memorial to honor those men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces, and those who have given their lives in doing so.

Next to the skyscrapers of the island main business district you will find important landmarks like the Iolani Palace, King Kamehameha statue, the Kawaiahao Church and the Aloha Tower. This area is also the seat of Hawaii’s government, home to the Hawaii State Capitol, Washington Place and Honolulu Hale.

Unsure of what to expect we were pleased with our tour. Chris was our guide. A lot is solo but you have a guide that helps navigate your schedule. They pick you up and drop you off. You get some history on your way there. All entry tickets are purchased for you. They drop you off and send you on your way. We did the half day tour. They took us to the USS Bowfin first and scheduled us a tour of the Arizona. We had plenty of time to look at everything, listen to audio, walk through the sub, the museum, the gift shops. After that we were taken to an airfield across the way and toured the ATC Tower, new and old planes that were in hangers. This is where we ate lunch. We ended the tour at the USS Missouri and spent about 2 hours there where we were given a tour by the historians there. It was a great experience. I’m not a history buff but we learned a ton and enjoyed every aspect of the tour and remembering those who lost their lives.
