We had a wonderful trip out to the USS Arizona Memorial. Our driver AJ gave us tips on great things to see and experience during our stay on Oahu. We asked him to skip the city tour and take us to Leonard’s for their Malalasadas, which were amazing! The pros/cons of coming during the Covid crises....the one disappointing bit was you don’t get to see the film about the attack on Pearl Harbor, although you are able to see a lot about it in the museum at the visitor’s center before you go out to the memorial. The pro is that the crowds are absolutely minimal so you get a great experience otherwise.

I actually booked a tour for the Arizona Memorial and the USS Missouri but the Missouri was closed due to Covid-19 so in it's place, I agreed to substitute it for the Historic City tour. my tour guide Koki was great. She had everything arranged and it was nice that there was only 4 others waiting at the Arizona Memorial boarding dock which made for a nice uncrowded visit to such a sacred place. Afterwards she drove me to see the Punchbowl National Cemetery then to Pu’u Ualaka’a State Park Lookout. The weather couldn’t have been better! There I had gorgeous views of Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach. Then we went to Historic Downtown to see the where the Statue of King Kamehameha, the last King of Hawaii who unified the islands. Overall an enjoyable day spent and I could not have asked for a better tour guide. Thank you Koki and Karma Tours.

We learned soooo much at Pearl Harbor. Beautiful memorial site, look for the oil dripping on the left side! It was said oil still drips from the USS Arizona (not known from where exactly). Make sure to take a look at the 23 min video!
