We did this tour as we wanted to visit LA from Santa Monica as we didn't want to walk around LA ourselves as we heard some of the tourist areas can be sketchy. We did quite a bit of research and landed on this tour due to it departing from santa monica. Firstly, the tour did go to all places advertised, however below are the reasons it's not got 5 stars; 1) it's not worth the price it's advertised at as the bus felt very old & worn. Initially we were squeezed on the back seat (which isn't suitable for 4 people). The speaker also didn't work at the back so we couldn't here the first 1hr. 2) arriving at the farmers market at 11am, it was too early to really enjoy lunch and we were surprised at being there 11 until 12. 3) you do not get close to the Hollywood sign, to get a good photo you need to zoom in (you can't take a selfie as it's too far away). 4) our tour guide tried to keep everyone entertained but focused more on categorising people on the street to famous people. Rather then fun facts about LA. 5) most of the celebrity houses were based on people who used to live there rather than current homes.

The service was wonderful. I was lost and the guys helped me find a safe place to park my vehicle and provided me with the best tour guide ever, “Key”. I have another girlfriend who wishes to do a tour and I will be sure to book with Surf City and hope to request Key for that trip. My best friend and her daughter from Ohio came to visit me to celebrate her 60th birthday and this was the best way to get around Los Angeles and see some sites with a bit of history lesson thrown in. The energy on the bus was positive and exciting. It felt like everyone was one big family on an adventure together. Couldn’t have asked for a better driver especially in this LA traffic. Special care was taken to be safe and keep all engaged in the experience. Thank you Key for making this a truly memorable 5 1/2 hours. I wish you continued success. Key is the best and has an awesome personality.
