The Phantom of the Opera
Based on the classic novel by Gaston Leroux, The Phantom of the Opera tells the story of a masked figure who lurks beneath the catacombs of the Paris Opera House, exercising a reign of terror over all who inhabit it. He falls madly in love with an innocent young soprano, Christine, and devotes himself to creating a new star by nurturing her extraordinary talents, employing all of the devious methods at his command. The longest-running show currently playing on Broadway, The Phantom of the Opera became the longest-running show in Broadway history on January 6, 2006 when it played its 7,486th performance, surpassing previous record-run of Cats. It has been dazzling audiences since its debut on Broadway in 1988 where it swept the Tonys winning awards for Best Musical, Best Director, Leading Actor in Musical, Featured Actress in a Musical and more. It is a Broadway institution not to be missed.

I attended the March 17th, 7:00pm Show and had twice seen Phantom previously. The first time off, Broadway and then the second time on Broadway which was beyond description amazing and moved us to tears with the purity am amazing vocals. This was the Third time seeing Phantom which we brought our three boys to see for their first time. The performance was not up to par of even the performance I had seen off Broadway... no Chills... no tears... we were very disappointed. If you are expecting the Quality of the Phantom of Old, you will be very disappointed .... I wish I had waited to take my boys to experience it for the first time. Not sure if the vocals were off due to COVID and everyone not having enough rehearsals, or just not qualified vocalists. Hoping it gets corrected.... The audience new the quality was low as there was not a standing ovation which is typical. Hoping this get resolved quickly.
