We had a wonderful time this morning with Rainbow ryders. We had no idea how humongous the balloons really were. The whole thing was a big well orchestrated operation. Our pilot, Alan, had 27 years of ballooning experience. He gave us lots of interesting information & made it fun for us. The ride itself was peaceful. There were times we were drifting & times we were going so slow we felt suspended in the air. All so enjoyable on a beautiful day. I had read about really bumpy landings & I was concerned. It was a little bumpy but nothing concerning. Our pilot even landed us on a dirt road for pickup.
We got up at 3am & was there before the 4:30 am requirement. About 5am, We rode in a van about 20 minutes to a bare field. There are no bathrooms there. We waited awhile until the wind conditions were favorable. Patience is required. Everything depends on the wind & weather. There are times that they need to cancel, so we were fortunate. It was the only day we were in town to celebrate our grand daughters college graduation.
It was a wonderful thing to do. We throughly enjoyed it & would recommend this company.
