Photo Safari in Ketchikan, Alaska. Spend 3 hrs "off the tourist beaten path".

Overview
We help you take iconic photographs of several locations in the Ketchikan area, including historical, cultural and nature attractions. We offer advanced and basic photographic instruction for cell phone, poin'n'shoot & DSLR camera users. We conduct our tours over a set route of 7 or 8 different locations with each location offering unique photo opportunities AND teaching opportunities. Although a majority of my photography instruction is equally applicable to BOTH cell phones, point’n'shoots and DSLR cameras, some of my instruction is specific to DSLR users.

Photo techniques taught for BOTH DSLR & cell phone & point’n’shoots include: composition, subject identity, subject proximity, subject balance, exposure, cropping, angle of approach, light compensation, macro photography...

We look forward to serving you soon.

We had a wonderful time on this excursion with Dale. He was a very knowledgeable guide and had many stories about Ketchikan. Although we didn't see much wildlife we did get to learn about the town of Ketchikan and its history. We saw a few bald eagles and some other birds but that was all of the wildlife. The places Dale took us he gave us pointers on how to photograph the area and how to get the best photo that we could get with our phones or cameras. It was also very nice that it was a small group tour because it allowed us to ask questions and have some one on one conversations. We had a total of 4 people in our group that day and it was great. If you are looking to learn about the history and see sites that are not the "tourist" spots then this tour is for you. If you are looking to view only wildlife then I suggest you take another tour.

This was an excellent shore excursion. I learnt all sorts of tips for my SLR camera and my partner learnt how to use her iPhone camera. We took shots of waterfalls, wildlife and scenery, all of which turned out much better than they would have done before we did this trip.

This was a great idea and I was really looking forward to it. Maybe I expected to much. Julia was personable but was not the experienced local guide described in the brochure. We went to some nice places but in a fairly haphazard way. The only wildlife we saw were bald eagles. I would not recommend.
