Photo Safari in Ketchikan, Alaska. Spend 3 hrs "off the tourist beaten path".

Overview
We help you take iconic photographs of several locations in the Ketchikan area, including historical, cultural and nature attractions. We offer advanced and basic photographic instruction for cell phone, poin'n'shoot & DSLR camera users. We conduct our tours over a set route of 7 or 8 different locations with each location offering unique photo opportunities AND teaching opportunities. Although a majority of my photography instruction is equally applicable to BOTH cell phones, point’n'shoots and DSLR cameras, some of my instruction is specific to DSLR users.

Photo techniques taught for BOTH DSLR & cell phone & point’n’shoots include: composition, subject identity, subject proximity, subject balance, exposure, cropping, angle of approach, light compensation, macro photography...

We look forward to serving you soon.

It was pouring rain but that didn't deter our guide Rob from getting us to Ketchikan locations good for tourists and off the beaten path and for helping to improve our photography skills (what are umbrellas for anyway). Rob spoke a lot about composition and answered technical questions too. We also got some history of the locations and the city in general. Enjoyed being in a small group and learning not only through Rob but also the other photographers.

I picked this tour because my husband loves taking pictures with his actual camera, but Felix had great tips for cellphone photos, too. I took some of the best pictures I've ever taken! Felix was a great tourguide around the town, and it seemed like he knew somebody at every stop. We saw some cool places that we never would have seen just walking around, places where the locals were hanging out. What a great way to see Ketchikan!

This was my fifth visit to Ketchikan, and my hubby’s third. Obviously, I already had a lot of photos of this lovely town. So, we decided to take the Nature Photography tour offered by Princess. Don met eight of us at the pier and off we went a a grand adventure. We stopped at a gorgeous lake that I didn’t know was within walking distance of town. Saw my one and only salmon on this tour. The lake and surround area was absolutely beautiful. Saw many totems and Don explained their story. Stopped at the Totem Heritage Center - don’t miss seeing the Raven Fog Woman Totem Pole. Magnificent. Walked some on the Frog Pond Trail - hadn’t a clue it existed before this tour - stopped for coffee and yummy cookies at the local coffee house, stopped at the boat harbor and a few other places. All in all, this was the best tour I’ve taken in Ketchikan. Don shared a lot of history of Ketchikan and at all the stops we made. I highly recommend spending three hours in Ketchikan on this tour.
