Yikes. Where to startā¦
1. Hurry up to wait: Check-in begins 90 minutes prior to show time. The only benefit to this is perhaps the parking situation. Other than that, they just usher guests into a room with a bunch of cheep toys.
2. One bar: Let me start by saying the bartender who waited on us was excellent. But I had to fell for them because they have to pour beer into these plastic keepsake cups and the amount of foam this creates is crazy. Our bartender did a great job of making sure we didnāt get a cup full of foam, but it took a minute (and what looked to be a lot of wasted product) to get there. Considering this is the only bar, it slows things down and the line gets very long so thereās no going back for another before the show.
3. Doors opened late: We stood shoulder-to-shoulder with a few hundred others guests for another 15 minutes after the doors were supposed to open. We did over hear an employee (who had come out to say hello to some family or friends) mention that the previous show ended late and that we they were behind.
4. Service was slow: By the time we sat down our kids were starving. We were told someone was going to be taking our bar drink order, someone else was going to take an appetizer order (never came), and our main server would cover the rest. We had a wonderful server who was really giving it her all, but the poor girl just didnāt get the support she needed. She was clearly a hard worker though. As far as bar drinks, Iām not sure if there was only one person for our color section taking everyoneās order for the bar, but it took so long to get our dinks that I forgot we had even ordered until I remembered handing over my credit card and it had not returned.
5. Dinner: Dear lord, where do I start. This could get long so I will say the only thing worth eating was the kids vegetarian option which was a butternut squash ravioli. Donāt bother with the overly steamed mushy frozen vegetables underneath though. Everything else from the gritty tomato soup to the dry pork (poor thing died twice) was terrible.
6. The show: Like dinner, this could get long as well so Iāll try to keep it brief. I will say that they have some amazing acrobats which was fun to watch. Iām also sure that each of the performers has put in a lot of time to practice. But the show was so busy, that it easy to lose interest and felt soooooo long. The times where you actually got to cheer for your sections pirate were few and didnāt seem to make much sense. Some of the jokes were cringe worthy (this coming from someone whoās not one to cringe at anything). My son (7) seemed to be entertained which was fun to watch (of course his favorite part was a fart joke). Our three year old on the other hand asked to leave about half way through, and I had to agreed.
7: Value for the money: No. We can say we tried it, but we will not be back. Such a bummer because we were really looking forward to it. Living in the SoCal area, there are plenty of better places to drop that kind of money.
