Overview

Learning to surf with Sandbar Surf School is a lifetime bucket list thing that you will never forget. We are the premier surf school in California's Central Coast and we have been teaching surf lessons here in Pismo Beach since 1996. We have tons of local surf knowledge as well as many of our instructors are world travelers/surfers. We truly love what we do and you will have the best time in the world going with us. Laugh with us, surf with us and maybe even come to one of our bonfires! We would not only love to meet you from wherever in the world you are from, but we promise that your surf experience with us will be the part of the trip that you can't stop talking about in the days to come.

I took my grandaughter Madison who is only 9 years old and has never been surfing! She had a total blast and can't waite to go back! After just one lesson she was surfing waves all morning! They have Excellent Instructors who really love what they are doing! Can't waite to go back 😁

My two kids (13 and 11) had a group surf lesson with Jonny. They really loved it. There was a good ratio of instructors to pupils, so both my kids felt they got plenty of tuition. The waves were just right for a couple of beginners; by the end of the lesson they were both able to stand up. Thanks Jonny and team for a memorable morning in Pismo Beach!

Four of us took the group lesson last week based on all the positive online reviews, and Sandbar Surf lived up to the hype. Wetsuits, surfboards, and gear were provided, and the instructors were very knowledgable, friendly, and encouraging. None of us had ever surfed before, but we were all able to stand up after a couple tries. By the end, we were able to ride the waves all the way in to the shore. This was definitely one of the highlights of our vacation and we highly recommend Sandbar Surf for anyone who wants to learn how to surf!
