What To Expect

Balboa Park

The Balboa Park segway tour starts out by sightseeing beautiful downtown San Diego. You will Segway past San Diego’s gleaming skyscrapers, lovely parks, and past its many historic landmarks. After gliding through downtown, your Segway adventure arrives at Balboa Park where you will see Founder’s Plaza, cross the Cabrillo Bridge, and see the Spreckles Organ Pavilion. Glide with your tour guide through one of America’s most beautiful open parks and take in the San Diego Museum of Natural History, Spanish Village Arts Center, the Inez Parker Memorial Rose Garden.

My boyfriend and I did the Balboa Park tour and had a great time. Our tour guide, Jake, was very accommodating, funny and made it a very enjoyable experience. I was not sure about riding a segway at first, but I got the hang of it and enjoyed it a lot more than I expected! Jake made sure we knew what we were doing so we were safe. It was a lot of fun and I'd love to do it again! Balboa park was also very nice (it was our first time).

All on tour were experienced riders--yet we had to go through the "basic training"--may be for insurance reasons. The ride over to Balboa park is a distance so the "actual tour" was just under 90 mins--not enough time. The Gaslamp tour was a "drive by" on the way back to base camp.Really need more time in park or at least some more free time than 10-12 mins. Kudos for offering military discount but NOT advertised--have to ask. Their equipment is older than some of the other tour operators in other places (different companies). They do "nickle and dime" you. Charge for water, gloves and Segway insurance--never had this on any other tours. We however came equipped with our own gloves/water.
