What To Expect

Balboa Park

The Balboa Park segway tour starts out by sightseeing beautiful downtown San Diego. You will Segway past San Diego’s gleaming skyscrapers, lovely parks, and past its many historic landmarks. After gliding through downtown, your Segway adventure arrives at Balboa Park where you will see Founder’s Plaza, cross the Cabrillo Bridge, and see the Spreckles Organ Pavilion. Glide with your tour guide through one of America’s most beautiful open parks and take in the San Diego Museum of Natural History, Spanish Village Arts Center, the Inez Parker Memorial Rose Garden.

this was a very fun adventure for my wife and me. Hugh was a great tour guide and teacher. My wife and I are in our mid sixties and have never been on a Segway before and Hugh made us very comfortable and made sure we understood the principle of how to operate the Segway safely. He had 6 out of 8 people that had never been on one before and he had all of us riding in 15 minutes. We were crossing intersections and he made sure we had no problems. We had FUN and will be doing Segway tours more often. I highly recommend this mode of touring! Thanks Hugh for a great job!!

We signed up and both had no Segway experience nor had anyone else in our group of 6!!!! It was a perfect outdoor adventure to see some of downtown San Diego and the lovely wonderful Balboa Park!!!!! Just enough sites and wet our whistle to go do more!!! We will definitely do it again as there are many various tours to enjoy the great city of San Diego!!!

This was my first experience with Segway tours of this kind. Enjoyed myself beyond words. Hugh, our instructor cum guide made it both fun, easy, educational and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is keen to tour Balboa Park. You can cover a lot more ground than if you were walking. Best $50 spend for 3 hours of educational tour. Segway Nations tour is also conveniently located on the waterfront astride the Midway Carrier and lots of other restaurants. For those of you apprehensive about how to handle Segways, think no more! Its really very very easy. It could even be addictive as well!
