Portland's Best Chocolate and Coffee Walking Tour

Overview
Portland's chocolate scene is overwhelming; let us navigate you through its origins, passionate makers, and diversity with this walking tour that delves into what some call "decadence" but we call "delight."

And we couldn't cover chocolate without the roasted seed of our other favorite tropical berry: coffee! Portland is known as the heart of the craft coffee roasting world, with so many small roasters, coffee lovers that we are, we struggle to taste them all.

Our tour hits both the well-known highlights and some of the secrets of the chocolate scene, with a few surprises we don't want to give away.

The tour in total is about 2.0 miles (3.5km), mostly flat walking, with tastings of chocolate and coffee -- just the right amount so you'll have the opportunity to truly savor every sip and bite! We keep groups very small, so you'll have an intimate experience with your enthusiastic guides.

(Contact us for larger groups or private experiences; we are happy to accommodate!)

Azar Indulgences
We'll walk down through the funky Portland West End and stop at Azar Indulgences, where owner Christine Azar has designed her ideal combination of both handcrafted Belgian-style chocolates from her family's company in Lebanon, and wine carefully selected from both local and international winemakers. Azar's one-of-a-kind chocolates are made in a family tradition going back over a century; we'll taste a selection of our favorite of these chocolates (although to be honest it's so hard to pick!) and wine, as well.

Our tour guide, Nancy, was so kind and full of information. She took us to the most incredible local chocolate and coffee shops. The tour was very customizable which I loved. We had the flexibility to order coffee/tea drinks of our choice. At the chocolate shops we were able to say we prefer dark chocolate and they customized the chocolate that was given to primarily dark. They were also able to do dairy free vegan chocolate as well. Nancy was also such a wealth of information and gave us so many recommendations for restaurants, shops and great places around Portland. I canā€™t recommend this tour enough!

Got to experience places and flavors that we never would have known about. Our guide was an expert not only in chocolate and coffee bit also on the city of Portland. We learned so much

The chocolates we tasted at Azar Indulgences weā€™re pretty good, although I was not a big fun of the chocolate drink (too rich and thick). We all wished we tasted more chocolates instead of drinks in the other places we visited. The last stop, a supermarket with one aisle devoted to chocolates was a total waste of time. The tour guide old have just given us the name and address of the shop instead of walking there in the summer heat. To improve this tour, have more chocolate shops like Azar.

Daisy, we re-arranged the itinerary because the day was so hot ā€” and we chose iced beverages instead of our usual fare because they were cold on a day with unusual heat. We also offered a different date but you chose to go forward. Iā€™m sorry you didnā€™t like it.
